Establishing a strong brand and telling "Our Story" is crucial for Saginaw Intermediate School District to effectively communicate our values and mission to our community. By showcasing our unique identity and highlighting our achievements, we can build trust, establish credibility, and inspire others to join us in our mission to serve, innovate, and empower our community.

Saginaw ISD's purpose is to serve, innovate, and empower the students, families, communities, and stakeholders served throughout Michigan. To serve is to perform duties or services for another person or organization. To innovate is to make changes in something established, especially by introducing new methods, ideas, or products. To empower is to make an individual or community stronger and more confident.

BRAND

Welcome to Saginaw Intermediate School District's brand guidelines page, where we aim to provide a clear and comprehensive framework for representing our organization's identity. These guidelines outline the essential elements of our brand, including our logo, typography, color palette, and tone of voice, to ensure consistency and coherence across all our communication channels. By adhering to these guidelines, we aim to strengthen our brand and build a strong and lasting relationship with our staff, students, districts, and community.

COLORS

Color is one of the first impressions of our brand identity. Our Saginaw ISD Teal is energetic, positive, and future-forward. The primary color palette should be used first in all situations. Color names are for internal reference use only, and they are not vendor recognized. HEX codes (#00000) can be entered in most programs where a custom color is requested, such as Microsoft, Google, Canva, etc.

EXTENDED COLOR PALETTE

Introducing the extended color palette into a design should be used sparingly and to only add dimension and texture when needed. The use of orange is to signify a positive external message, an “Orange Frog” branded event, or employee recognition.

LOGOS

Our logo is the foundation of our brand identity. It is important to respect our logo. Do not skew, angle, or alter our logo. Be careful when resizing the logo in order to keep it legible. Please maintain an appropriate amount of space around our logo to allow the design to breathe.

Our compass points north to symbolize finding one's way and staying on course toward a desired goal or destination. Saginaw ISD provides guidance to serve, innovate, and empower students and educators, helping them navigate the complexities of the learning process and reach their full potential.

FONTS

Branded fonts are to be used in most external and internal messaging. It is important to try our best to stick to our fonts to keep a more identifiable and consistent brand. Montserrat can be used both internally and externally in every font type that is offered. Montserrat should be used as our preferred sans serif in body paragraphs and headers of designs. Times New Roman is our preferred serif font for official letters, at 12pt in the body of the message. Aneisha Script is our preferred “script” font. This font should only be used during “Orange Frog,” "Our Story," or employee appreciation branding opportunities.

SOCIAL MEDIA

At Saginaw ISD, we believe in giving every staff member equitable access to post on our social media accounts. This idea birthed the communications initiative called "Our Story." If you would like access to share on "Our Story," please navigate to our page and follow a quick 5-minute training!

HASHTAGS

Hashtags are keywords or phrases preceded by the # symbol. They are used on social media platforms to categorize and make content more discoverable to users interested in a particular topic. Please use the following generic hashtags when posting on "Our Story." There will also be a whole course on hashtag use in the silver level training experience.

BUSINESS CARDS

After approval from your supervisor, Saginaw ISD branded business cards can be ordered using the directions in the button below. Please check with your program secretaries, who may already have a list started. Do not design your own cards or add logos without permission.

You must have approval from your supervisor to order name tags, and they run about $12. Once you have approval, please get in touch with the Superintendent's Office at ext. 8701 or email jciesla@sisd.cc
