Saginaw Intermediate School District (ISD) is proud to announce that Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Collier has been selected as a fellow for the prestigious 2024-2025 Google GSV (Global Silicon Valley Ventures) Education Innovation Fellowship Cohort. This honor recognizes Dr. Collier's dedication to advancing educational practices and leveraging technology to create impactful learning experiences.
The Google GSV Education Innovation Fellowship is a collaborative initiative between GSV and Google for Education. It brings together top K-12 superintendents and instructional leaders from across the nation who are committed to using technology as a catalyst for educational innovation. Throughout the year-long program, fellows will engage in collaborative problem-solving, mentorship, professional development, and insight sharing to address critical instructional challenges and prepare students and educators for the future.
"I am deeply honored to be accepted into the national Google GSV Fellowship," said Dr. Collier. "This opportunity represents our commitment at Saginaw ISD to innovative and forward-thinking educational practices. Being part of this esteemed fellowship will allow me to collaborate with visionary leaders to provide awareness and implementation of cutting-edge ideas and strategies for our district and county. I look forward to leveraging this experience to further enhance our mission of providing exceptional educational opportunities to foster a culture of service, innovation, and empowerment."
The Fellowship's second cohort comprises 26 imaginative and forward-thinking K-12 leaders, collectively serving more than 2.8 million students nationwide. The cohort will build on the success of the inaugural Fellowship, which empowered fellows to launch companies and transform districts across the country, making innovative education tangible for millions of students and educators.
"The impact of our inaugural Fellowship made innovative education tangible for millions of students and educators, with fellows launching companies and transforming districts across the country," said Tiffany Taylor, Partner and Chief People & Impact Officer at GSV. "As the Fellowship grows with our second cohort of K-12 systems leaders, we're inspired by the contributions they'll add to the ecosystem through rigorous learning opportunities, rich community, and collaborations across the broader innovation landscape."
