Saginaw Intermediate School District proudly announces that Coty Kuschinsky, our Chief of Staff and Communications Supervisor, has recently achieved a significant milestone in her professional journey. Coty has completed her Master’s Degree in Strategic Communication from Michigan State University, further enhancing her ability to lead and innovate in communication across the districts we serve.

Superintendent of Saginaw ISD, Dr. Jeffrey Collier, shared, “We are incredibly proud of Coty for completing her Master’s Degree in Strategic Communication from Michigan State University. Coty’s dedication to her professional growth reflects the commitment we all share at Saginaw ISD toward continually improving how we serve our students and community. Her talented skills in communication further strengthen our ability to collaborate, innovate, and lead as we collectively tell ‘Our Story’ in education.”

Ms. Kuschinsky shared, "Pursuing this degree was both a challenge and a privilege. The knowledge I’ve gained has not only enhanced my skills but also deepened my passion for sharing the incredible work we do at Saginaw ISD. I’m grateful to be part of a team that supports furthering education, and I’m excited for what’s ahead as we continue to amplify the voices of our students, staff, and community."

Coty was instrumental in leading Saginaw ISD to win four National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) awards this year, a remarkable accomplishment for the district. Her leadership has strengthened Saginaw ISD’s communication efforts and advanced the district’s mission to serve, innovate, and empower. We are incredibly proud of Coty’s dedication to her personal and professional growth, and we are excited to see the continued positive impact her leadership will bring to our district. ABOUT COTY KUSCHINSKY

Coty Kuschinsky serves as the Chief of Staff and Communications Supervisor for Saginaw Intermediate School District. In her role, she consistently innovates communication strategies to enhance the organization's brand identity and empowers collective authorship across the district.

Born and raised in Saginaw Township, Coty is a dedicated advocate for the Great Lakes Bay Region. She began her higher education at Saginaw Valley State University before transferring to Central Michigan University, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Broadcast and Cinematic Arts. After graduation, Coty worked as a multimedia journalist at WNEM TV5 in Saginaw, reporting on significant events like the Flint Water Crisis and the CMU on-campus shooting.

Coty transitioned from journalism to community affairs at Jolt Credit Union, where she connected with local leaders and participated in the 2020 Great Lakes Bay Institute for Leaders. In 2020, she joined Nexteer Automotive as a cross-media specialist, leading major communications projects. Coty later took on a part-time role as a Communications Specialist at Hemlock Public Schools, where she implemented new communication strategies and won a 2022 National School Public Relations Association's (NSPRA) Publications and Digital Media Award of Merit before moving on to Saginaw ISD. In 2024, Ms. Kuschinsky was instrumental in receiving four awards from the NSPRA, including the Golden Achievement for Saginaw ISD's Orange Spot Recognition Program.

In 2024, Coty earned her Master of Arts in Strategic Communication from Michigan State University. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, skiing, golfing, and spending time at her family cabin on Hubbard Lake with her husband, Jamie, a science teacher and head football coach at Hemlock High School.

ABOUT SAGINAW INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL DISTRICT

Saginaw Intermediate School District (ISD) is an educational service agency that provides effective and innovative leadership, services, resources, and programs throughout Saginaw County. Saginaw ISD provides career and technical education, early childhood, finance, human resources, instruction, pupil accounting, special education, technology, and transportation services. In addition, Saginaw ISD operates multiple educational programs to meet the unique needs of students ages birth to 26 across Saginaw County, including: Hartley Outdoor Education Center, Head Start/Early Head Start and Great Start to Readiness Programs, Great Lakes Bay Early College, Saginaw County Juvenile Detention Center School, and Special Education Center Programs.

Saginaw ISD serves 12 local school districts, five public school academies, and 22 non-public schools, with a total enrollment of approximately 26,000 students. Public school districts supported include: Birch Run Area Schools, Bridgeport-Spaulding Community School District, Carrollton Public Schools, Chesaning Union Schools, Frankenmuth School District, Freeland Community School District, Hemlock Public School District, Merrill Community Schools, Saginaw Public School District, Saginaw Township Community Schools, St. Charles Community Schools, and Swan Valley School District.
