Saginaw Intermediate School District is happy to announce the promotion of Tammy Cavendish to Director of Finance from her previous Business Manager position. "I am so excited to have the opportunity to be a part of such an amazing team and that I can collaborate and learn from the best," said Cavendish.
Ms. Cavendish came to Saginaw ISD in January 2020 as an experienced Director of Business Operations with a demonstrated history of working in the Financial Services industry. Skilled in coaching, operational excellence, analytics, onboarding, and budget management, Tammy was hired as the Finance Specialist. Just over a year later, she was promoted to Business Manager and quickly proved her leadership skills, leading to her position as the Director of Finance. "We're so excited that Tammy will be moving into a leadership role; she has shown exceptional accounting acumen and is an amazing person," said Scott Sawyer, Deputy Superintendent.
Ms. Cavendish holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Saginaw Valley State University and a recent Master’s in Business Administration from Georgia Southwestern State University. Tammy is also working on her Chief Financial Officer certificate from Michigan School Business Officials, with an anticipated completion date of July next year.
Outside of work, Ms. Cavendish loves spending time with her family. Tammy and her husband, Paige, have been married for almost 17 years and have two children, Kassidy and Kennedy. Kassidy is 11, and Kennedy is 9. The Cavendish family loves camping and unplugging from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. They try to get away as much as possible to their seasonal at Lake of Dreams in Merrill, MI.
