Mrs. Tabacsko's classroom door at the Saginaw ISD Transitions Center sums up our month-long celebration. Her class focused on "his" and "her" story by researching and writing a short paragraph about a number of people to decorate the entire classroom entrance. #saginawisd #sisdtransitionscenter #blackhistorymonth

Today we were able to celebrate our 2022 CTE Alumni of the Year award recipient, Patricia Vaughn! What an excellent representative of CTE! Ms. Vaughn is a healthcare provider for the Saginaw County Community Mental Health Authority (SCCMHA) as a Crisis Intervention Specialist (CIS) housed at Covenant Emergency Room. There she provides mental health evaluation to determine appropriateness for psychiatric inpatient treatment, substance abuse and outpatient resources. She also works as a healthcare surveyor for the State of Michigan keeping our most vulnerable safe through inspections of nursing homes across 9 Michigan Counties. She also has a niece that currently attends the Saginaw Career Complex in our Medical Academy, which is a partnership with Covenant Healthcare. CTE is a proven pipeline to help address industry needs, and we are truly grateful for all of our partners that walk hand in hand with us to develop and support these programs! Special thanks to State Representative Amos O'Neal and Senator Ken Horn for the signed tribute they sent (legislature is in session today), honoring Ms. Vaughn.
